Tiffin

Timothy Steven Longanbach, 60, of Tiffin, died   9:47 a.m. Sunday, January 9, 2022, at home after a short battle with cancer.  He was born October 22, 1961, in Tiffin to Steven Sherman and Deanna Marie (Werley) Longanbach and they survive in Tiffin
Other survivors include two brothers, Anthony (Lynn) Longanbach of Kennewick, Washington, Michael Longanbach of Tiffin; two sisters, Stephanie (Kenny) Bettinger of Solon, and Michelle (David) Stock of Kenosha, Wisconsin along with many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his partner, Valorie Spire, and a sister-in-law, Mary (Neff) Longanbach.
Tim was educated at St. Mary Elementary School, Nazareth Hall Military School, and Calvert Catholic High School.  He entered the United States Navy in 1979 and served in Norfolk, Virginia, and Reykjavik, Iceland where he was honorably discharged.  After his military service, Tim worked various jobs and eventually obtained his journeyman ticket (IBEW) out of Nashville, Tennessee, where he worked as both an electrician and certified electrical welder.  He also worked out of the Carpenter’s union hall in Toledo.
Tim was an avid racing fan and loved attending Sprint and NASCAR races and enjoyed sharing his passion with his nephews. He was an avid collector of racing memorabilia.  Tim was also passionate about his music, playing the guitar, working in his garden, and had an impeccable memory for local history. He enjoyed riding his bicycle around town, stopping to chat with friends, and meeting new people.  For all that knew Tim, he had a sense of humor that could survive any catastrophe, of which there were a few.  In Tim’s younger years he was an amazing daredevil and outstanding escape artist and had the scars to prove it, as he rarely turned down a dare.  He will be missed by his family, including his many nieces and nephews and his friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2022, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St. Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.
