Sister Annette, born Jeanette Langenderfer, was received as a Sister of St. Francis of Tiffin, Ohio, on August 12, 1950. She made her first profession on August 12, 1952, and final profession on August 12, 1955.  She began her ministry in education as a Teacher at St. Anthony Orphanage, Miller City, Fort Jennings, New Washington, Edgerton and Bryan, and then as a teacher/principal at Peru and Bucyrus. The next phase of her life took her to Chiapas, Mexico where she served as a missionary. Upon her return to the United States she served as a pastoral associate at St. Patrick Parish, Bryan, Good Shepherd Parish, Toledo, St. Joan of Arc Parish, Lewisport and Hawesville, Kentucky, and St. Theresa Parish, Evansville, Indiana. Sister Annette spent the next four years writing the History of the Tiffin Franciscans in Chiapas while also serving as a Minister of Service. Her next ministry then led her to St. Caspar’s Parish, Wauseon, where she served as an RCIA assistant and Spanish translator. Upon her return to Tiffin, she served the community as a Minister of Prayer and Presence until the time of her death.

Sister Annette enjoyed going out to eat and visiting with family, friends and parishioners. She was a fun-loving person who was always eager to play cards, especially when she won, and she especially enjoyed playing a good game of chess.
