Shirley Louise Bell, 76, of Tiffin, passed away at 3:21 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2020, surrounded by her family at Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. She was born January 22, 1944, in Seneca County, Ohio to Frederick and Margaret (Scheeter) Miller. She married Richard Bell June 17, 1985, in Tiffin and he died January 30, 1992.
She is survived by five children, a daughter, Rhonda (Chet Matthews) Sauers of Tiffin; and four sons, Rick (Michelle) Bell of Tiffin, Edward Brashares of Palm Harbor, Florida, Michael (Linda) Bell of Tiffin and Bill Bell of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; and two sisters, Judy Martin of Tiffin and Jeanette (David) Hoffman of Sylvania.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Joann Hemmerly and Sharon Haudenshild, and a brother-in-law Bob Martin.
Shirley spent over a decade delivering the Toledo Blade newspaper to residents of Tiffin and she had also worked at General Electric. Shirley was a sassy woman who was fond of the simpler things in life. She had a good sense of humor, loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Shirley also enjoyed listening to 50s music, watching soap operas, and mysteries on the Id channel. She frequently enjoyed Tim Horton’s iced coffee and appreciated all of the wonderful and kind people who served her there. She is now reunited with her parents, siblings and fur babies, Scooter and Maddie. Shirley will be missed.
Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St. Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2020, at the funeral home. Rev. Jim Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery.
