Mary Alice (Bentz) Cessna, 79, of Tiffin, died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023, at her residence.
She was born November 2, 1943, in Tiffin, to Franklin F. and Valeria T. (Elchert) Bentz.
She married Carl D. “Skip” Cessna on May 29, 1965, at St. Joseph Catholic Church and he died November 8, 2018.
Family members include her children, Cindy (Ciro II) Ciraci, of Bolivar, Ohio; Denise (Joe) Soldano of Cumming, Georgia, Greg Cessna of Tiffin, Tim (Deb) Cessna of Republic; Beth Cessna of Tiffin; 13 grandchildren, Angelina, Francesca, and Ciro III Ciraci, Ryan and Lexi Soldano, Nick Cessna, Masonne McIntyre, Jayma Voorheis, Kailyn Hernandez, Brooke and Lainey Cessna, Brandon (Callie) Cessna and Brady Hedrick (deceased); three great grandchildren, Michael Cessna and Natalie McIntyre, Bennett Cessna; a brother, Kenny Bentz; and a sister, Marg (John) Hoover.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, David Bentz, Gerald Bentz; and a sister, Joan Kieffer.
Mary Alice was a 1961 graduate of Calvert Catholic High School and was a graduate of the Toledo Beauty Academy. She worked as a hairdresser and cosmetologist, worked at G.E. and retired from Heinz in Fremont. Mary Alice was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed Bingo, trips to the casino, and spending time with family and friends play cards.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4-7 p.m., Monday, March 13, 2023, at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419)447-3113.
Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the funeral home. The Rosary will be recited 30 minutes prior to the Mass at the church.
The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church officiated by Rev. Gary Walters. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
