Marilyn Ann (Felter) Rohrbach Distel, age 90, died at 2:45 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2022, at the St. Francis Nursing Home in Tiffin.
Marilyn was born December 23, 1931, in St. Stephens, Ohio to John F. and Flora A. (Gerhardstein) Felter. She married Charles H. Rohrbach June 13, 1951, at St. Mary Catholic Church and he passed away June 20, 1966. She then married Robert M. Distel July 9, 1971, in Bowling Green, they were married almost 45 years, and he passed away June 15, 2016.
They have a combined family of eight children, four sons, Michael P. Distel, Robert J. Distel, Anthony L. Distel, and Charles R. (Jennifer) Rohrbach and four daughters, Allyson M. Distel (Raymond) Leisy, Rebecca A. Rohrbach (Charles) Thomas, Nancy L. Rohrbach (David) Lucius and Jennifer A. Distel (Maurice) Risser; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas (Gisela) Felter of Vista, California, and John (Mary) Felter, Jr. of Hideaway, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Charles and Robert; a brother, William Felter; infant twin sisters, Virginia and Rosemary Felter; and infant sister, Nancy Felter.
Marilyn was a 1949 graduate of Calvert Catholic High School and worked at Ohio Bell, Seneca County, and State Employees’ Credit Union, and the Allen Eiry Senior Center, but she considered being a wife, mother, and grandmother her most important role in life. She treasured hosting many family gatherings. Marilyn volunteered at Washington and St. Mary’s Elementary schools, the Red Cross, and St. Mary’s Parish, including the festival and funeral committees. She and Bob enjoyed traveling to all 48 contiguous states by car, was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and most of all, she loved to play cards and was a very competitive player until the very end.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Rader officiating, burial will take place immediately following in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or Calvert Catholic Schools.
