James J. Beckley, 63, of Tiffin, died at 7:45 p.m., Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Advanced Specialty Hospital of Toledo.
Jim was born June 9, 1957, in Upper Sandusky to Samuel Everett and Virginia Mary (Fox) Beckley, Jr. Jim married Ellen E. Perry on August 8, 1992, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and she survives in Tiffin.
Other survivors include a son, Bryan (Tessa) Beckley of Crestwood, Kentucky; five daughters, Tara (Marshal) Oman of Findlay, Amber (Danny) Allen of Castle Rock, Colorado, Danielle Beckley (Taylor Smith) of Chicago, Illinois, Samantha Beckley (Caleb Runion) of Columbus, Alexandra Beckley (William Hopper) of Cincinnati, 10 grandchildren; two brothers, John (Tammy) Beckley, Gus (Sandy) Beckley both of Carey; three sisters, Gale (Tim) Bender of Indiana, Gordia Williams of Republic, and Gae Nell Beckley of Carey.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim was a 1975 graduate of Carey High School. He also graduated Terra State, where he was a featured commencement speaker, and earned numerous degrees and was a robotics processing engineer. Jim was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he loved attending Mass, rain, shine, or snow. Jim was the former president of NWONSCIA. He also enjoyed giving public inspirational speeches. Jim enjoyed taking care of his home including leaf blowing and pressure washing his driveway, spending time with his grandchildren, attending The Ohio State football games, vacationing, playing cards, and hosting family gatherings, from poker parties to holiday celebrations. He was a notorious negotiator, loved flying drones, loved having wheelchair races with grandchildren, and loved giving them many rides on his lap.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 31, 2021, at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419)447-3113.
Prayers will be said at10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at the funeral home, followed by Mass at11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Scott Perry, his nephew officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at the church 30 minutes prior to Mass. The Mass will be live-streamed at https://www.tiffinstjoseph.org/watch.
