Deloris "Dee" Vivian (Heacox) Brown

Deloris Vivian “Dee” Brown, 86, of Findlay, died peacefully at 9:04 pm Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at her residence.

She was born March 7, 1937, in East Liverpool, to Hiram and Helen (Sullivan) Heacox.  She was raised by her foster parents, Harvey and Clara Harrold of Columbiana, Ohio, from the age of three.

She married Rev. Dr. Donald H. Brown October 20, 1961, and he survives in Findlay.

Also surviving are a son, Todd (Jilleen) Brown of Columbus Grove; two daughters, Lori (Hal) Kendrick of Amherst and Heather (Tiffany Keiser) Brown of Maumee; five grandchildren, Jared and Austin Brown; Natalie, Olivia Kendrick, and Emily (Phillip) Kendrick-Vance; and a great-grandson, Hayden Kidd; a sister, Barbara Middaugh of East Canton, and a brother William McKay of Alliance.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents, foster parents, and seven siblings.
She was a registered nurse in pediatrics in the Cleveland and Cuyahoga Falls areas.  She also worked in area nursing homes as a director of nursing.  She later retired from her nursing career on the IV team at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

Dee was a member of First United Church of Christ, Findlay, where she helped with church dinners.  She also volunteered and enjoyed activities in her Florida community.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking cookies, and boating on Lake James in Indiana.  She enjoyed creating their Christmas village and train layout each year with Don.  Dee also attended many sporting events of her children and grandchildren over the years.

Visitation will be Friday, November 10, 2023, from 11 am – 1 pm. The Funeral services will be at 1 pm, all at First United Church of Christ, Findlay.  Rev. Marc Giedinghagan will officiate, Burial will follow in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove.
