Alan Charles Hodkinson

Alan Charles Hodkinson, 34, of Tiffin passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 20, 2020.

Alan was born, July 18, 1985 in Tiffin, OH.  Surviving him is his beloved wife, Candie (Ramirez) of Tiffin, whom he married on January 30, 2017.

Also surviving is his “Bonus Son” Kaison Tippin (step-son) of Tiffin that Alan loved to spend time with.

Additional survivors include his mother and father Lori and Keith Hodkinson, both of Tiffin; brothers Eric Hodkinson of Tiffin and John Hodkinson of Findlay.  Also surviving are step-siblings Meagan (Jeff) Hough of Point Place, Andrew Williams of Findlay, Alexandra (Joshua) Kinney of Tiffin and Hannah Corner of Columbus.

Other surviving family members include his grandmother, Virginia Neubauer of Grand Haven, MI.; aunts Carla Bender of Allendale, MI. and Holly (Robert) MacFarland of Troy, MI.; uncles Eric (Laura) Neubauer of Brighton, MI. and Steven (Renee) Hodkinson of Scottsdale, Az.

Alan graduated in 2003 from Hopewell-Loudon high school where he excelled as a student-athlete and was a Midland Athletic League standout in football.

He went on to play collegiate football for Otterbein University in Westerville, OH.

Alan graduated from Tiffin University with a bachelors degree in sports management.

He worked for many years in the food service industry as a cook, first at Shellshuckers and most recently at the Clover Club.

Alan’s infectious smile, laugh and sense of humor endeared him to many in Seneca county and beyond.  He enjoyed spending time with friends at the Tiffin Yacht Club (Bel-Mar), with family in northern Michigan, fishing, golfing and shooting.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.

Memorial contributions in Alan’s name can be made to the Kaison Tippin ‘Bonus Son’ fund c/o
P.O. Box 611, Tiffin, Ohio 44883.   The fund will help in future educational expenses for Kaison.
