Wayne E. Stahl, 74, of Tiffin and formerly of Bucyrus, passed away at 7:15 pm, Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his children.

Wayne was born October 7, 1937 in Carrothers, Ohio to the late Helen Lenore Stahl.  He lived with Minnie (Harpster) and Asa Girton as a foster son.

He was formerly married to Shirley (Parkins) Sterling and Mary (Rathers) Stahl.  Survivors include two sons, Timothy W. Stahl, and Dean A. Stahl; his “adopted” daughter, Dawn Frisch, all of Tiffin; a new puppy, Harley Wayne Stahl; four step sons all of Bucyrus; nine grandchildren, Nicholas Thomas, Gabriel, Justin, and  Amber Stahl, Shayleen Jacobs, Nicole and Morgan Stahl, Amanda (Robert) Stover and Zach Frazier;  five step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, Natrone Thomas,  Hunter Stahl, and Aidan Stover; two grand-dogs, Anna and Baxter; a “brother” Edward Harpster of Lexington, Oh; a cousin Walter David (Elizabeth) Stahl of Bloomville; and many close friends.

Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, foster parents and Uncles, Louis G., Walter E., Joseph H., and Ralph Stahl and his beloved St. Bernard, Beethoven.

Wayne was a member of the United States Army National Guard as a truck driver from 1956 to 1962.  He retired in 1987 from the glass department at the General Electric Company in Bucyrus after 31 years of service.  He was an avid motorcycle rider for 59 years. He was a member of Knights of Tiffin Motorcycle Club, District 12, Harley Owners Group, N.W.O.M.A., and A.M.A.  Wayne loved spending time with family and friends, he also loved animals.  He enjoyed motorcycling and traveling.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, February, 24, 2012 at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.  There will be a United Veteran’s Council service at the funeral home at 4 p.m.

Wayne’s funeral will be 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home officiated by the Rev. Charles Brooks.

Memorial contributions may be made to F.A.C.T or to Community Hospice Care in care of Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory.
