Virginia M. Luthi, 87, formerly of Wolcott, died at 4:55 a.m. Monday, October, 31, 2011 at St. Francis Nursing Home in Tiffin, Ohio.
She was born September 12, 1924 in White County, Indiana to the late Fred and Ethel Hawn. She graduated from Round Grove High School in 1941.
Her marriage was to Warren A. Luthi on April 17, 1946 in Wolcott. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2006.
Virginia ran Luthi's Ham Sandwich Shop in Wolcott for 15 years. She was an outstanding card player, and especially enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. She also enjoyed sports, and keeping score for the Wolcott and Tri-County High School basketball teams as well as Purdue.
Surviving are two children Andrea Klima (husband: Tony) of Sycamore, Ohio and Chris Luthi (wife: Connie) of Rensselaer, and one brother, Jack Hawn of Crawfordsville.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jackie, Jim and Julie and 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Weiderhaft and a brother, Dick Hawn.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Foster-Clapper Funeral Home of Wolcott. Entombment to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Wolcott Historical Society.
