Victor B. Scherger, 75, Tiffin, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 28, 2003. He was born December 30, 1927, in Liberty Township, Seneca County, Ohio, to Albert A. and Christena M. (Brickner) Scherger. On August 25, 1956, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, he married Kathleen R. Smith, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Kevin V. (Rebecca) Scherger, David A. (Diana) Scherger, and Frederick C. Scherger; three daughters, Theresa M. Scherger, Patricia G. Scherger, and Victoria A. Sanchez; a granddaughter, Lindsay Rae Scherger, and two brothers, Harold and Paul Scherger. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Joe Sanchez.
Mr. Scherger, a 1946 Hopewell-Loudon High School graduate, retired after 38 years as an inspector at Whirlpool Corp., Clyde, Ohio. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree. He volunteered for Community Hospice Care of Tiffin and enjoyed gardening and landscaping.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care, St. Joseph Church, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
