Vernon H. Beard, Sr. age 86 years old,died on Monday April 30, 2001 at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. He was born to John and Bertha (Garfield) Beard in Mexico, Ohio. He married Marjorie M. Smith on April 3, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio. She died on October 13, 1990.
Mr. Beard is survived by 2 sons, Vernon H. Beard, Jr. and Edward O. Beard both of Tiffin, Ohio; 2 daughters, Janie Hohman and Charlotte Schumacher, both of Tiffin, Ohio. 8 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by 5 brothers, John, Norman, Edward, Robert and William Beard and 1 sister Imogene Beard.
Mr. Beard had retired from Walker Wholesale Company as a Salesman. He had served in the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Burial will take place in Greenlawn Cemetery, Tiffin, Ohio immediately following the Funeral Service at the Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to St. Vincent Palliative Care Unit, Toledo, Ohio.
