She was preceded in death by her parents, her three sisters, Eleanor Dill, Barbara Corry, and Sister Mary Delores Corry DMJ; and her two brothers, Preston and DeWitt Corry.
Sister Theresa was also known as Sister Mary Louis. She served as an elementary teacher and/or principal in Edgerton, Peru, North Auburn, Fort Jennings, Miller City, Marywood, Carey, Payne, Blakeslee, and New Washington; as high school teacher in Bismark, North Dakota, and Calvert in Tiffin; as medical clerk, secretary, and/or supervisor at Brentwood Veteran’s Medical Center; as unit supervisor of the outpatient clinic at the Veteran’s Hospital in Los Angeles, California; and as home service care giver in Santa Monica, California. Upon returning to Tiffin she spent many hours of volunteer work in the medical records department of the Betty Jane Center, and as a driver for the congregation. Sister Theresa served the community as a Minister of Prayer from 2007 until the time of her death.
Sister Theresa was a true Franciscan. She had a great love for animals and nature. She loved to work in the yard and the garden. The beauty of the areas that she took care of was proof of her “green thumb.” Her favorite pastime was working on crossword puzzles. She obtained her Masters in Secondary Education from College of St. Francis, Ft. Wayne, Ind. May 12, 1974. She earned her Standard Certificate in Administration from College of St. Francis, Ft. Wayne, December, 1974 and an Elementary Standard Principal Certificate from Dayton University, Sept. 1, 1975.
Visitation will be 11a.m. – 1 p.m., Friday, Mar. 2, 2012 at St. Francis Home Chapel and then from 2 – 8 p.m. at St. Francis Convent Chapel, where a Christian Wake Service will be at 7 p.m.
The Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Mar 3, 2012 at St. Francis Convent Chapel with Rev. Frank Murd officiating. Burial will follow in St. Francis Convent Cemetery.
