Samuel Richard Reino, 86, of St. Francis Avenue, Tiffin, Ohio died at 9:35 a.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010 at St. Francis Home.

Sam was born June 19, 1924 in Tiffin to John and Carmella (Iannantuono) Reino, who came to this country from San Bartolomeo, Italy in 1910. Both parents are deceased and Sam was their last living child.

Sam married Pauline Weimerskirk in 1946 and later divorced in 1980. He is survived by; four sons, Michael (Lynn), Rick, Daniel (Theresa), and Steven (Jan) Reino all of Tiffin; two daughters, Carol (Chuck) Yaney of Tiffin and Julie (John) Kleinhenz of Columbus; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was a son Bob, three brothers, Tony, Frank, and Joe Reino and two sisters, Maggie Schirack and Phil Colatatruglio.

Sam was raised on Clay St, and later owned homes on both Schonhardt and Circular Sts. He also lived in Scottsdale, Ariz. with his dear companion LaVon Albert from 1989-2001. She died in 2000. Sam was a WWII veteran, having served with honor for three years in North Africa and Italy with the 141st Infantry 36th Division. He retired from American Standard in 1981 where he was both a castor and later an inspector. Sam was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the VFW and AMVETS. He enjoyed traveling; especially the Amish back roads, cooking, gardening, fishing and turtle trapping.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, December 5, 2010 with a wake service at 1:30 p.m. at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 South Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, 419-447-3113.

Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will take place immediately following in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. The United Veteran’s Council of Seneca County will perform military rites at the grave site.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care or St. Francis Home in care of the funeral home.
