RUTH ELEANOR (Hunker) CLARK

Ruth Eleanor Clark, 94, of Tiffin, passed away at 3 pm Thursday, October 18, 2012, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.

She was born January 10, 1918, in Tiffin, to George and Ida Mae (Michaels) Hunker.  She married Joseph V. Clark June 21, 1946 in Tiffin, and he preceded her in death February 18, 1997.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph (Barbara) Clark and James (Diane) Clark, both of Tiffin; a daughter, Sue (Steve) Keller of Wisconsin Dells, Wis., and a step-daughter, Brooke Sollmer of Toledo; six grandchildren, Craig, Jason, Erin, Grant, Matt and Laura; eight great grandchildren, Sean, Austin, Skylar, Dylan, Kayleen Cora, Noelle and Luke; and a sister, Aleta Chadwich of Berea.

She was preceded in death by her siblings; Glen Hunker, Owen “Dave” Hunker, Bessie “Lucille” Hickman, Helen Shuman, Dorothy "Dody" Brunner, Madeline “Tootz” Coehich, Marjorie “Pete” Lec, Raymond “Buzz” Hunker, John Hunker, Pauline Hixson, George “Jim” Hunker, and a niece who was raise as a sister, Margorie “Ann” Berry.

Ruth attended Partridge Harbor School in Seneca County.  She was a co-owner of The Sandwich Shoppe in Michigan prior to her marriage.  She was proud of her work as a waitress at the Pan-Yan, Shawhan Hotel and the American Restaurant all in Tiffin.  She also enjoyed her work as a homemaker and Executive Housekeeper.  Ruth was most proud of her family and cherished every moment she spent with them.  Ruth never ran out of stories to tell, and was a veracious Euchre player.  She extremely enjoyed cooking, cleaning, gardening and singing and playing with her great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may call from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.

Memorial services will begin at 3:00 p.m Sunday, with her son-in-law, Pastor Steve Keller, officiating.  Burial will take place at 9:00 a.m. Monday, October 22 in Seneca Memory Gardens, Tiffin.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care or to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
