Ruth E. Dantuono

Ruth Dantuono, 93, of Tiffin, Ohio passed away July 25, 2026.

Daughter of Roy and Lehla Bredrup and sister of Eunice Booth, Ruth leaves behind a son, Mark of Pennsylvania, and daughters Lisa (Richard) Biega of New York and Linda (John) Hlava of Illinois. She also leaves behind three grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews.

Ruth graduated from Fort Wayne Central High School and worked in the Treasury Department at Lincoln National Life Insurance Company.

Her sense of humor wove through her life and brought laughter to all she touched.

Ruth met her life partner when Luigi (Lou) Dantuono walked into the diner where she worked in Fort Wayne, Indiana. They married in St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bascom, Ohio on November 28, 1959. He received extra helpings of mashed potatoes until his passing on June 11, 2017.

True to her Norwegian heritage, Ruth enjoyed three o’clock coffee accompanied by Dove chocolate.

Throughout 67 years in Seneca County, Ruth enthusiastically supported the local community. In the ‘60’s she helped found Redeemer Lutheran Church, whose mission she strongly supported throughout her life. She was also actively involved in Shiloh Farm Women’s Club, the Seneca County Board of Mental Health and, for thirty plus years, the former FISH of Tiffin. She was a “city girl” before coming to Seneca County, but wholeheartedly embraced our rural community.

Visitation will be 1:00 - 3:00 PM Sunday August 2, 2026, at TRAUNERO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio (419) 447-3113.

Rev. Jan Kucera will preside over the funeral service at 4:00 PM Sunday August 2, 2026, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2467 S. SR 231, Tiffin, Ohio.
