Ronald Paul "R.P." Gosche, 85, of rural Fostoria, died at 11:05 a.m., Monday, January 3, 2022, at his residence.
Ron was born July 28, 1936, in Tiffin, to Elmer Francis and Erma Marie (Boes) Gosche. He married Rita Marie Sneider July 20, 1957, at St. Michaels in Gibsonburg, they shared 64 years of marriage, and she survives in rural Fostoria.
Other survivors include, four sons, Joe (Sue) Gosche, Jim (Denise) Gosche, Jerry (Karen Darr) Gosche all of Kansas, Ohio, Jack (Jean) Gosche of Fostoria; two daughters, Jane (Tony) Riedel of New Boston, New Hampshire, Jenny (Eric) Hummel of Fostoria;18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (Katie) Gosche of Fostoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Firmin A. Gosche; and two great grandchildren.
Ron was a 1954 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School. He started his career at Bascom Elevator and in 1973 he and three co-owners established Crop & Soil Service, where he continued to work until retiring in 1998. He was a member of St. Andrews now All Saints Parish, the Bascom Telephone Company Board of Directors, the Lions Club, and was a blood donor of 20 gallons. Ron enjoyed traveling, gardening, tending to his orchard, playing cards with friends, farming, golfing, K of C bowling, his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, making homemade wine, mushroom hunting, loved ice cream, milk bottle collecting and lending a hand to his children and grandchildren’s projects.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 3 to 8 pm Thursday, January 6, 2022, at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St. Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am Friday, January 7, 2022, at All Saints Parish, New Riegel, with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. A luncheon will follow at the New Riegel American Legion, and burial will be at 2:30 pm in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, Heartland Hospice, or a charity of the family's choice.
