Roland F. “Tommy” Sendelbach, 98, of Tiffin, died Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at his residence.
He was born November 26, 1924, in Seneca County, to Michael and Nancy (Koerper) Sendelbach. He married Nova M. Haugh on March 24, 1945, in Ft. Pierce, Florida, and she died on June 23, 2006.
Survivors include two sons, Michael (Lisa) Sendelbach of Houston, Texas, Ted Sendelbach of Tiffin; three daughters, Rolanda (Frank) Williams of Toledo, Tonja (Don) Schneider of North Lima, Adonica Sendelbach of Gahanna; 14 Grandchildren; 25 Great-Grandchildren; several Great-Great-Grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Patty Sendelbach of New London.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Thaddeus Sendelbach; two sisters, Dolores Stears, Rita Smith; and four brothers, Richard Sendelbach, Paul Sendelbach, Harold Sendelbach, Leo Sendelbach.
Roland was a 1943 graduate of Calvert Catholic High School, and he served in the United States Navy during WWII, from 1943-1945. Tommy retired in 1985, after 33 years of service at Whirlpool Corporation, Clyde. He was a member of All Saints Parish and the former St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bascom.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419)447-3113.
The funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Monday, March 13, 2023, at All Saints Parish, New Riegel, with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Bascom.
Memorial contributions may be made to City Mission of Findlay, or the Humane Society of Seneca County.
