Rita V. Kin, age 88, formerly of E. TR 122, Tiffin, died at 6:06 pm Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Elmwood Assisted Living at the Shawhan, Tiffin.
She was born May 28, 1921, in Carey, to the late Paul and Lulu (Garn) Kromer. She married Richard D. Kin August 30, 1941, in Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, Carey. He survives in Tiffin.
Also surviving are one son, Don (Jean) Kin of Tiffin; two daughters, Carol (Dan) Praklet of Union, Mich., and Kathleen Kin of Elkhart, Ind.; six grandchildren, David Kin, Christine Kin Rand, Steve Rickey, Lori Hembree, and Kori & Kurtis Kin; ten great grandchildren, Anna, Jacob, Samuel, & Emma Kin, Ethan & Elijah Rand, Kyle & Travis Hembree, and Nathan & Collin Rickey; one great great grandson, Madox Hembree; one brother, Richard Kromer; four sisters, Mildred Kin of Carey, Maxine Welly of Iowa, Janet Boes of Carey, and Barbara Jacob of Carey.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence “Larry” Kin, a grandson, Scott Rickey, three brothers, Robert, Norman, and Duane Kromer, a sister, Katherine Yingling.
Mrs. Kin had worked at Paul and Dick’s Supermarket long ago, and was also a homemaker. She loved her flower garden, playing cards, square dancing, and wintering in Florida for 20 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the T-Squares. She loved her children and grandchildren.
The Funeral Mass will be 10 am Tuesday, February 9, 2010, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church. The Rosary will be recited in church 20 minutes prior to Mass.
