Richard J. Weimerskirch, 89, of Tiffin, Ohio died at 12:57 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
He was born in Tiffin July 15, 1921 to Joseph and Minnie (Smith) Weimerskirch. He married Lina L. Krupp July 2, 1949 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin and she survives.
Other survivors include a son, Thomas (Bonnie) Weimerskirch of Tiffin; three daughters, Jane (Tim) Quinn and Janis (Richard) Stasik both of Bay City, Mich. and Ann (John) Jenny of Columbus; five grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 11 step Great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Nicholas and Charles Weimerskirch, and a sister, Mary Louise Weimerskirch.
Richard was a 1939 Calvert High School graduate and also graduated from Tiffin University. He served in the United States Army from 1942- 1946 in the Pacific Theater. He retired after 36 years of service at American Standard where he was an office worker. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge and the Knights of Columbus Council 608.
Visitation will be 9 am to 10 am Monday, January 17, 2011, with the funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. The Rosary will be recited in church 20 minutes prior to Mass. Private burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
