Phyllis Kay Zender

Phyllis Kay Zender, 81, of Tiffin, Ohio. died at 3:03 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2026, at Autumnwood Care Center.

Phyllis was born September 28, 1944, in Seneca County to Richard and Margaret (Shedenhelm) Hayward.

She married Eugene F. Zender in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, February 23, 1963. They had been married 63 years, and he survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include a son, Burton Zender of Tiffin; three daughters, Robin Zender, Gloria Zender (Matt Reed), both of Columbus, Ohio; and Jody (Nick) Cirigliano of Lancaster, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Joseph & William DeVore, and Luka Zender-Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant child, and sister, Rita (Ed) Loesser.

There will be no visitation or service at this time.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
