Norbert C. Hohman, 90, of Sycamore Street, Tiffin, Ohio died at 1:33 a.m., Thursday, October 19, 2006 at Mercy Hospital, Tiffin, Ohio. He was born May 26, 1916 in New Riegel, Ohio to the late Ferdinand and Estella (Larhman-Wogciehowski) Hohman. On January 23, 1940 in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom, he married Agnes M. Keefe and she died on October 25, 1991.
Survivors include sons; Louis (Carol) Hohman of Delphos, OH, Carl (Marlene) Hohman of Tiffin, and Raymond (Stacy) Hohman of Luckey, daughters; Susan Hohman, of Tiffin, Nancy Frisch, New Riegel, Mildred Michener, Republic, Marilyn Metzger, Elmore; 28 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren, brothers Leo Hohman, Bowling Green, OH, Donald Hohman, New Riegel and a sister Rosa Keller of Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by a son Dale Hohman; brothers Edward, John, Arthur and Herbert Hohman; sisters Alexina Hoerig, Hilda Reinhart and Rita Hohman.
Mr. Hohman was a 1934 graduate of New Riegel High School, and was a retired farmer and self-employed carpenter. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #608, New Riegel Moose # 872, Sandusky River Coon Hunters, and a Scout Leader for Troop 444, where he was presented the St. George Award and the Silver Beaver Award.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 23 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. James K. Say officiating. The Rosary will be recited at 10:45 a.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be immediately following in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, New Riegel. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday, October 21 and 2-8 p.m. Sunday, October 22 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, OH 44883 (419) 447-3113). The will be a wake service at 7:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care, Boy Scouts Troop 444 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
