Nancy L. Collins, 72 of Elita Street, Tiffin, Ohio died at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at St. Francis Home, Tiffin surrounded by her family.
Nancy was born on May 13, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Clyde and Barbara (Klapkowski) Harrison. When she was ten years old, she was adopted by the late Harold and Sigrid (Jenkins) Sebolt. She was previously married to the father of her four children before finding and marrying her soul mate Theodore “Skip” Collins. He died in 1976.
Survivors include four daughters, Laura Lee (Mike) Szablewski, Sandra Frankart, Jody (Tom) Corner, and Karla (Rick) Brown all of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren; Linda Burgess, Stephen Frankart, Andrea Neikirk, Matthew Schetter, Melissa Frankart, Jennifer Frankart, Amanda Schetter, Anson Brown, Tony Szablewski, Aurora Szablewski; five great grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and one step great-grandson. She was also survived by her “borrowed” son, Jeff Schafer and her beloved dog, Toby.
She is preceded in death by a brother, John Johnson.
Nancy graduated from Glenbard High School in Glen Ellen, Ill. She retired as an assistant manager at Sherwin-Williams. She enjoyed gardening, reading, Sudoku puzzles, John Wayne movies and spending time with her family and her dog.
Visitation with the family will be from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.
The funeral service will be at 6 p.m., Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Fairmont Cemetery.
