Nadine M. (Sauber) Steinmetz

Nadine M. Steinmetz, 87, of Tiffin, died at 3:20 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.

She was born Aug. 6, 1926, in Tiffin, to Benjamin and Pearl (Morehart) Sauber.  She married Donald E. Steinmetz, Oct. 8, 1955, in St. Joseph Catholic Church.  He died March 10, 1985.

Survivors include four sons, Peter Steinmetz and Philip Steinmetz both of Tiffin, Joel (Fran) Steinmetz of Marysville, Steven (Kellie) Steinmetz of Bloomville; and a daughter, Jenifer (Mike) SanGregory of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald (Pat) Sauber of Sandusky, and Michael (Judy) Sauber of Fremont.

She is preceded in death by a son, Donald J. Steinmetz and a sister, LaDonna Sauber.

Nadine was a 1944 Calvert High School graduate, and a graduate of Tiffin University.  She retired as a switchboard operator at the Tiffin Developmental Center where she worked from 1977 - 1991, and she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. A wake service will be at 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at the funeral home, followed by the Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church officiated by the Rev. Joseph Szybka.  The rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass at the church.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvert Catholic Schools, St. Joseph Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
