Michael J. “Mike” Frase, 77 of New Riegel, Ohio, died at 1:47 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.
He was born December 14, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio to Marion and Marguerite (Sherman) Frase. He married Lunette Hohman May 8, 1976, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, and she survives.
Together, they shared nearly five decades of marriage and were blessed with six surviving children: Betsy Frase of New Riegel; Allison Frase of Dublin, Ohio; Mitchell Frase of Columbus, Ohio; Molly (Daniel) Pastore of Wilmington, North Carolina; Martin (Hillary Deuble) Frase of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Matthew (Caren Candia, fiancée) Frase of New Riegel; a sister, Mindy (Frase) Ford of Tiffin; He was the proud Pop-Pop to Bennett and Ainsley.
He is preceded in death by his parents and twin sons, Jamie and Jeremy Frase.
Mike grew up in Tiffin, Ohio, and was a 1967 graduate of Columbian High School. He continued his education at Goebic Community College. He obtained his CDL and drove for AmerisourceBergen for over 30 years. Later, he worked for Tiffin Mercy in the Environmental Services Department.
Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and mowing. Being outdoors brought him a sense of peace, whether it was a quiet morning in the woods, a day on the water, or tending to his garden. Mike was a proud member of the Tiffin Rifle Club and the National Rifle Association. Mike was also a member of All Saints Parish in New Riegel, Ohio.
Visitation will be 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2026, at All Saints Parish, followed by the Mass at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev. Timothy Kummerer. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
The TRAUNERO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113, is entrusted with the arrangements.
