Maxine Moerdyk died in Tiffin, Ohio March 21, 2024 at the age of ninety-seven. A longtime resident of Grand Rapids she taught early elementary for the Grand Rapids Public Schools, was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church, and volunteered at the Blandford Nature Center. Preceded in death by her husband, Glen Moerdyk, Maxine is survived by two sons; David (Karen) Moerdyk of Kent, Washington and Philip (Peggy) Moerdyk of Tiffin, Ohio; along with four grandchildren Megan (Christoph), Jonathan (Katie), Mark (Krystal), and Kristen as well as one great-granddaughter, Addie. . Remembrance will be held at Faith Lutheran Church on April 27th with visitation from 9:45-10:45 am, service at 11:00 am followed immediately by interment at Fairplains Cemetery. Please no flowers or plants. Memorials can be made to Faith Lutheran Church of Grand Rapids or a charity of your choice.

Services are being handled by Reyer's North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan  49505.  616-363-7755.  Local arrangements are under the direction of Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory.
