Mary Naylor Doemel, 98, of Tiffin, passed away Monday, November 29, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Tiffin.

She was born March 7, 1912, in Tiffin, Ohio to Earl Benjamin Naylor and Jennie May Beckley Naylor.

She is survived by her son, Dr. William Naylor Doemel (Nancy Walcutt Doemel) of Crawfordsville, Indiana; grandson, Christopher Dale Doemel, Lansing, Michigan; a niece, Elizabeth Naylor, St. Louis; a nephew, John E. Naylor, Jr., Maui, Hawaii; a niece, Barbara Fitzgerald (Robert), Atlanta, Georgia; and a grand niece, Nicole Naylor Harmon (Edwin), Atlanta, Georgia.

Her parents, her sister, Jane Cornelia Naylor, and two brothers, John Edward Naylor and William Trindel Naylor, preceded her in death.

She attended Tiffin Columbian High School and graduated from Greer School for Girls in Birmingham, PA. She attended Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated from Heidelberg College in 1934. She worked as secretary to prosecuting attorney Robert Carpenter, secretary to Tiffin Superintendent of Schools Paul V. Brown, and as a Tiffin Public Schools teacher at College Hill, Lincoln School, and Krout School, retiring after twenty-five years in 1977.
She was the eldest member of Old Trinity Episcopal Church, a member of Penthouse, a member of American Association of University Women, Tiffin Panhellenic, Episcopal Church Women, Seneca County Retired Teachers, and Y-Wives. She was an avid bridge player, relishing her many bridge partners and games over the years.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Old Trinity Episcopal Church, 125 East Market Street, Tiffin, with the Rev. Amy L. Fallon presiding. There will be no visitation, and private burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
