Mary Lou Cummings

Mary Lou Cummings, 99, of Tiffin, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026, at St. Francis Home.

She was born August 2, 1927, in Tiffin to Louis and Dorothy (Wagner) Magers.

She married Warren J. Cummings, September 30, 1950, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. He died September 8, 2022.

Survivors include a daughter, Julie (Michael) Hammer, of Manchester, Michigan; two grandchildren, Aaron Hammer of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Tricia (Jason) Pate of Morenci, Michigan.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Thomas Cummings, and a sister, Ann McGlinn.

Mary Lou was a 1945 graduate of Calvert High School and obtained her bachelor’s degree from St. Mary of the Springs, now Ohio Dominican University in Columbus. She was the Librarian at St. Joseph School for 30 years. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and her faith was important to her. She enjoyed playing cards, travelling, and entertaining friends for dinner.

Visitation for family and friends will be 4-7p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2026, at TRAUNERO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 214 S. Monroe St. Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-3113.

The Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Evarist Massawe. The rosary will be recited 30 minutes prior to the Mass at the church.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
