Marjorie A. Everhart, age 88, of Tiffin, died at 11:25 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin.
She was born July 25, 1936, in Berwick, to Emerson and Laverne (Tiell) Sendelbach. She married Clayton J. “Pete” Everhart, November 26, 1955, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. He died February 22, 2015.
Together, Marge and Pete raised five children, four sons, Robert J. (Angie) Everhart of Summerville, South Carolina, Joseph L. (Evie) Everhart of Clover, South Carolina, Kenneth E. (Kim) Everhart of Gulf Breeze, Florida; and a daughter, Sharon (Paul) Van Horn, Tiffin; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren with two more on the way; a brother, Richard (Sandy) Sendelbach of Bascom; a sister, Alma Everhart of Tiffin, a sister-in-law, Betty Sendelbach of Tiffin; and a daughter-in-law, Deb Everhart of Fort Mill, South Carolina.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, David Allen Everhart, and a brother, John Sendelbach.
Marjorie was a 1954 graduate of Calvert High School. During high school, she caught the eye of her future husband, Pete, with her radiant smile.
She worked at Calvert High School as a housekeeper, also as a cashier at Mr. Wiggs/Hecks, and was a homemaker. Marge dedicated herself to her family and home, running her household with a vigorous, self-made schedule, regimented dinner menu, and boundless care.
As her children grew and began families of their own, Marge continued doing what she did best—lovingly helping to raise three of her many grandchildren. She made each of them a unique lunch every day, took them on shopping and lunch outings, and introduced them to daytime TV with her favorites like The Price is Right and All My Children. Despite her dislike of the sun and not knowing how to swim, she even watched them as they swam at her neighbor’s pool.
Marge had a creative spirit and many hobbies, including ceramics, knitting, and crocheting. She faithfully attended Saturday evening Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church and cherished time spent laughing with family and friends at the Eagles. You could always count on Marge to have her signature look—perfectly permed hair and her classic pink lipstick.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home, but friends and family are welcome to join the Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The rosary will be recited 30 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
