Marilyn Ann Brickner, 88, of Tiffin, died at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. She was born Oct. 23, 1932, in Tiffin, to William P. and Hilda M. (Daniel) Lucius. She married Kenneth W. Brickner on June 19, 1954, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, and he died June 29, 1971.
Survivors include three sons, Daniel (Doris) Brickner of Elida, Ohio, Louis Brickner of Tiffin, and Philip Brickner of Brookfield, Ill.; two daughters, Theresa (Greg) Roberts of New Richmond, Ohio and Angie (Terry) Helmer, of Morrow, Ohio; 9 grandchildren, Christy, Robert, Daniel, Ashley, Kenny, Jenny, Nick, Matt, Abri; six great-grandchildren, Austin, Ayva, Boston, Brooklyn, Mason and Maya; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Lucius of Perrysburg.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and five brothers, Bill, Daniel, Henry, Arthur, and Joseph Lucius.
Marilyn was a 1950 Calvert High School graduate. Upon graduation, she was employed by AAA License Bureau in Tiffin. Once married, she became a homemaker and enjoyed raising her five children. After the sudden death of her husband, Kenny, she began work as a teller for St. Joseph Credit Union. She later became a loan officer and retired as treasurer of the credit union, providing a legacy of nearly 40 years of service. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rosary Altar Society, and the Ladies Study Club, and she looked forward to volunteering at the church festival each year. Marilyn was devoted to her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildrens’ events and evenings out with her friends. She was a talented seamstress and baker and found pleasure in preserving and canning fruits and vegetables from the family garden.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 pm Tuesday, June 1, 2021, with a wake service at 7 pm, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419)447-3113.
Prayers will be said at 9:30 am Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at the church 30 minutes prior to the Mass. The Mass will be live-streamed at https://www.tiffinstjoseph.org/watch.
