Marian L. Rumschlag, age 98, of State Route 53, Tiffin, died at 9 am, Monday, May 18, 2009 at her daughter’s residence.

Marian was born in Tiffin, on July 20, 1910 to the late Frank and Emma (Kietel) Philipps. In 1935, she married Albert F. Rumschlag in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1984.

Marian is survived by two sons, Gerald (Barbara) Rumschlag, and James (Marilyn) Rumschlag both of Tiffin; two daughters, Jane (Harry) Harper of Tiffin, and Joyce (Robert) Palmer of McCutchenville; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert (Atha) Philipps of Findlay.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Francis; a granddaughter, Cheryl Francis; a great-granddaughter, Whitney Hernandez; and a brother, Charles Philipps.

Marian was a homemaker and she worked as an assistant at Hillside Service and Market. She was also a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church of Tiffin. Marian enjoyed quilting, crocheting, doing yard work and gardening.

Prayers will be said at 10 AM, Thursday, May 21, 2009 at the funeral home followed by the funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will be immediately following in the St. Joseph Cemetery. The rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass.

Contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Calvert Catholic Schools or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
