Louis A. Boes, 98, of Tiffin, died at 12:18 pm Sunday, November 27, 2011, at Seneca House, Tiffin.

He was born December 28, 1912 in Tiffin to Thomas and Catherine (Clouse) Boes. He married Dorothy Kuhn July 30, 1938 in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom. She died September 2, 1996.

Survivors include a son, John (Sharon) Boes of Tiffin; a daughter, Shirley (David) Younkin of Centerville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Brad Boes, Todd Boes, Jody Scaife, Marc Younkin and Erica Younkin; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Rose Nye of Greensprings.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and a sister.

Louis was a 1929 Columbian High School graduate.  He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and retired as a Supervisor and Planner at General Electric Company.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, GESOTS, a life member of the Elks Lodge, and had volunteered at the Sharing Kitchen for many years.

Visitation with the family will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011 with a wake service at 4:45 p.m. at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.

Prayers will be said at 10 am Friday, December 2, 2011 at the funeral home followed by the funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Joseph Szybka.  The rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. A private burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the Sharing Kitchen or to Heartland Hospice in care of the funeral home.
