LEE E. WEIMERSKIRCH

Lee E. Weimerskirch, age 67, of Warren Street, Tiffin, Ohio died at 6:30 am, Friday, August 7, 2009 at his residence. He was born on March 22, 1942 in Tiffin to the late Chester and Mildred (Smith) Weimerskirch.

He is survived by his life partner of 37 years, Sharon Bentz. Other survivors include his two brothers, Robert Weimerskirch of Tiffin and Steven Weimerskirch of McAllen, Texas; a Step Son, Christopher (Lori) Bentz; two grandsons, Cobin and Austin Bentz; 12 nieces and nephews, Jim, Jon, Chris Weimerskirch; Mark and Matt Weimerskirch, Lisa (John) Hilbert; Heather, Matt and Brian Weimerskirch; Kimli White, Rochelle Rose, and Neica Racker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Donald Weimerskirch.

Lee was a 1960 Calvert High School graduate. He served in the United States Navy from 1960 – 1966. He had been the co-owner of Wyme’s Restaurant since the early 1970’s and previously he had worked 29 years at Textron Air Foil in Fostoria.

Lee was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a life member of the Tiffin Amvets. He was also a member of the Tiffin Moose, American Legion, Knight of Columbus 3rd degree, and the Eagles.

Lee’s favorite pastimes were visiting flea markets, woodworking, card playing, and photography. He was an avid OSU and Cleveland sports fan. He enjoyed being “Papa Lee” to his grandsons and watching them play sports.

Visitation with the family will be 2- 4 & 6-8 pm Monday, August 10, 2009 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 South Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113. A wake service will be 3:45 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:30 am Saturday, August 22, 2009 with the Memorial Mass to be held at 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will follow immediately in Seneca Memory Gardens with the United Veterans Council of Seneca County performing military rites at the gravesite.

Contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Calvert Catholic Schools or to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of Traunero Funeral Home.
