Larry Gene Keckler, 65, of rural Tiffin died peacefully at home on Wednesday June 14, 2017 at 6:50 p.m.  He was born in Tiffin on October 22, 1951, to Harold and Mary Ann (Matthews) Keckler, Jr.  He married Linda Hampshire on May 31, 1988, in Tiffin and she survives.

Other survivors include his mother Mary Ann Forstner of Holland; three sisters, Julie Clark of Evanston, Wyoming, Brenda Miller of Holland, Ohio and Jody Keckler of Tiffin; three brothers, Monty Folk of Tiffin, Rick Folk of Holland and Craig Keckler of Tiffin.  He also leaves behind two step daughters Stephanie (Tim) Reinhart of Alvada, Jude (Tim) Hampshire of Pataskala, and step-sons and step-grandkids too numerous to mention, all of whom Larry considered family and they him.  And of course, he also is survived by his "Saturday Evening Family".

He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Keckler, a sister, Linda Sue Keckler, and a stepfather, Paul Eugene (Gene) Folk.

Larry was a machine operator at Excel Wire and Cable, Tiffin.  He was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Tiffin Moose.  Larry enjoyed camping, playing the spoons, computers and being around family & friends. He was always quick to laugh and had many strong opinions that he was always ready to share. Larry leaves behind for all to enjoy his beloved Schnauzer Molly.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  Larry was one-of-a-kind and filled our lives with music, campfires, love and laughs.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2017, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-3113.  There will also be visitation from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at First Lutheran Church.

The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at First Lutheran Church, 300 Melmore Street, Tiffin.  Rev. Douglas DeVos will officiate.  Burial will immediately follow in Seneca Memory Gardens, 4565 US-224,Tiffin.

Memorial contributions may be made to Seneca County Humane Society, Community Hospice Care-Tiffin or to The American Kidney Foundation.
