He was born Mar. 3, 1959 in Detroit Mich. to Harry and Alice (Wright) Shanks. He married Jennifer Schalk, April 6, 1996 and she survives.
Other survivors include, his mother of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; a son, Zachary Shanks at home; a daughter, Ashley (Kane) Wagner of Westerville; a brother, David Shanks of Detroit; two sisters, Sandra Shanks of Jackson, Mich. and Alicia Boyles of Gulf Breeze, Fla.
He is preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Sean Shanks.
Kevin was a 1977 graduate of Columbia Central High School, Brooklyn, Mich. He was an electrician at Cooper Tire in Findlay.

The funeral service will be private.
