Judith L. “Judy” Rossano, age 87, of Tiffin, died at 5:25 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at St. Francis Nursing Home, Tiffin.
Judy was born August 8, 1938, in Akron, Ohio, to William and Margaret (Silvasy) McQuown. She married Joseph A. Rossano in 1958, in Akron, Ohio, and he died May 17, 2017.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Rossano of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Matthew (Rhonda) Rossano of Independence, Louisiana; four granddaughters, Daniella, Natalia, Alicia, and Julia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Judy was a 1956 graduate of Garfield High School, Akron. She received a B.A. degree from the University of Akron and an M.A. from Bowling Green State University in Spanish and English. She taught at Hopewell-Loudon School District for 14 years and spent the remaining teaching years at West Junior High and retiring from Columbian High School after 32 years. She then substituted for several years, ran the DARE program, and the Tiffin Easter Seal Office. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she sang in the Funeral Choir for many years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Allen Eiry Center, where she accompanied the choral group for several years. As an avid animal lover, she supported the Seneca County Humane Society and found great pleasure being with her adopted cats.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Seneca County Humane Society or to the St. Joseph Worker Fund at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m., at the TRAUNERO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, with Deacon David Mileski officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
