Joseph L. Bua

Joseph L. Bua, 92, of Tiffin, died at 11:20 pm Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

Joseph was born June 12, 1923 in Chicago, Ill. to Lorenzo and Rose (Marjotta) Bua. He married Ola Swander July 11, 1964 in San Gabriel, Calif. and she died February 22, 2013.

Survivors include a step-son, Virgil Downs of Whittier, Calif.; a step-daughter, Linda Cahill of Tiffin; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a brother, Carl Bua; two grandsons, Richard Downs and Gary Downs.

Joseph was in the U.S. Army during WWII and served in Europe at the Battle of the Bulge.  He was an auto mechanic and owned Vannie's in Monterey Park, Calif. and was a member of the Sons of Italy.

There will be no visitation at this time, a private memorial service will take place in North Carolina at a later date.  The Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, 419-447-3113, are in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans in care of the funeral home.
