John R. Corthell age 84, of 189 Nelson Street, Tiffin, Ohio and 147 New York Street, Palmetto, Florida died at 7:54 A.M. Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, Florida. He was born on December 30, 1917 to George and Orpha (Haines) Corthell. He married Geraldine Below on August 25, 1945 in Tiffin, Ohio. She survives.
Other survivors include 2 sons, Lonnie Corthell of Tiffin; and Dave Corthell of Orlando, Florida. 5 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild, 3 brothers, Paul Corthell of Oak Harbor, Ohio; Kenneth and Don Corthell both of Tiffin; 2 sisters, Helen Cole of Republic, Ohio and Janette Holmer of Vancouver, Washington.
Mr. Corthell had retired in 1977 after 30 years as a construction laborer for Hossler Construction Company. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Tiffin, the Laborer's Union and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
Burial will take place immediately after the service in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, Ohio.
