Joan Dolores Obringer, 82, of Coe Street, Tiffin, Ohio died at 3:55 pm, Friday, September 19, 2008 at St. Francis Home, Tiffin, Ohio.
Joan was born October 24, 1925 in Tiffin to the late William J. and Emma Mary (Johnson) Schock. On October 9,1948 she married Werner Paul Obringer at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin, and he survives.
Survivors include; three sons, William James (Betty) Obringer , Joseph Paul (Nancy) Obringer, Patrick John (Milissa) Obringer, all of Tiffin; four daughters, Diane (David) Gaietto of Auburn, Indiana, Phyllis (Dennis) Hyde, Eileen (Vincent) Gaietto, Theresa (Marvin) Keefe, all of Tiffin; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, William (Dolores) Schock of Tiffin, Anthony (Lucille) Schock of Attica; and one sister, Rita (Dominic) Ranieri of Tiffin.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, David Gaietto; three brothers, Clarence, Daniel, and Benjamin Schock; four sisters, Lena Daniel, Veronica Schock, Sister Camillus Schock, and Evelyn Schultz.
Joan graduated in 1943 from Calvert High School. She worked at the Pure Milk and Dairy Company and Sterling Grinding Wheel and later was a homemaker. Joan was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society. Joan was a loving wife and mother. Serving the Lord and her family was her greatest passion. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and working outside on the family farm.
The Funeral Mass will be officiated by the Rev. Joseph Szybka, at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Tiffin. The rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be immediately following at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-4, and 6-8 pm, Monday, September 22, 2008 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 South Monroe St. Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-3113. The Wake Service will be 3:45 pm, Monday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the St. Francis Chiara Center and the St. Joseph Church, Community Hospice Care, or to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of Traunero Funeral Home.
