Joan Marie (Bentz) Kieffer

Joan Marie Kieffer, 76, of Tiffin, died at 6:20 pm Monday, June 15, 2015, at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

Joan was born September 8, 1938, in Tiffin to Franklin and Valeria (Elchert) Bentz.  She married Dr. Dale J. Kieffer February 8, 1958 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin and he survives.

Other survivors include five daughters, Stephanie (Jonathan) Stotzer of Tiffin, Deb (Kris) Kurtz of Tiffin, Linda (Mark) Earle of Montpelier, Kay Kieffer of Tiffin, and Karen (Andy Frank) Mack of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren, Amanda (Phil) Ross, Zach (Jessica) Kurtz, Nathaniel Kurtz, Maureen Kurtz, Jessica Earle, Jacob Earle, Austin Zoeller, Chloe Mack, Sophie Mack, Caleb Frank; one great grandchild, Wesley Ross; a brother, Kenneth (Evey) Bentz of Tiffin; two sisters, Mary Alice (Carl) Cessna, Margaret (John) Hoover of Bascom; and a sister-in-law, Shari Ward of Tiffin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Jerry Bentz and David Bentz.

Joan was a very compassionate, caring person, devoted to her family, and always putting others first. She enjoyed spending summers at the pool with her children and grandchildren. She also was an avid Bingo and card player.

Visitation will be 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, Thursday, June18, 2015 at the Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin 44883, (419) 447-3113. Wake service at 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Mass will be at noon on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the St. Joseph Activity Center with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating.  Prayers will be said at 11:30 am, Friday at the funeral home and the Rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass at the Activity Center. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Community Hospice Care, or F.A.C.T. in care of the funeral home.
