Jimmie David Fuhrer, 78, of Tiffin, Ohio, died at 7:59 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2026, at Fieldstone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Fostoria. He was born August 1, 1947, in Findlay, Ohio to Herbert N. and Roberta Jean (Scott) Fuhrer Myers.
He married Rebecca Ann Evans, March 16, 1969, in LaRue, Ohio. She died April 6, 2018.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Todd Fuhrer of Galion, and Christopher Lee (Kay) Fuhrer of Tiffin; six grandchildren, Zachary, Tyler, Katelyn, Chelesa, Corey and Contessa; eight great grandchildren; six brothers, Dennis (Virginia) Fuhrer of Spain, Jon (Carlyle) Fuhrer, Jeff (Cindy) Fuhrer, Brad (Wendy) Fuhrer and Mark (Laurie) Fuhrer all of Tiffin, and Kevin (Ester) Myers of Lima; a sister, Shelley (Alan) Ewen of Monroe Michigan
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, stepmother, Anna Fuhrer, a son, Matthew Adam Fuhrer, and a brother, Daniel Fuhrer.
David was a 1965 Columbian High School graduate, and a 1970 graduate of The Ohio State University. He proudly served after graduation in the United States Air Force 1970-1974, during the Vietnam War.
He went on to enjoy a successful career in management with Kroger and Schwann’s Frozen Foods. He retired after 27 years from Schwann’s in sales, driving and warehouse manager.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his caregiver, Kaydence Keckler, for the compassion, kindness, and loving care she provided to David.
David will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and the many lives he touched throughout his years.
Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 9 am until time of services at 11 am, at TRAUNERO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883. (419)447-3113. Pastor Lindsay Robinson will officiate, and burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, McCutchenville. The United Veterans Council of Seneca County will perform military rites at the grave site.
Memorial contributions may be made to Toys for Tots or the Wounded Warrior Project.
