Jean Carolyn Graham, 79, of Hedgegate North, Tiffin, passed away peacefully at 6:29 pm, Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at her home in the presence of her family.

She was born March 3, 1932 in Tiffin at 334 Coe St., the daughter of Bernard (Red) and Cora Cecelia (Jacob) Bauer.  She was married to Arthur F. Graham, of Canton, Ohio in Tiffin on October 15, 1955 at St. Joseph’s Church and he survives in Tiffin.

Also surviving are four daughters, Sheila Graham of St. Paul, Min, Marcia (Richard) Focht and Karen (Kevin) Kraft both of Tiffin, Patti (Jeffery) Rossi of Dublin, Ohio; one son, Thomas (Suzie) Graham of Walnut, Calif.;  11 grandchildren, Todd, Bridget and Timothy Focht, Eric and Megan Sanders, Dominic, Graham and Tony Rossi, Trevor Graham, Kira (Jason) Jahn and Kenzie Kraft.  On March 22, 2010 the family was blessed with the birth of her 1st great grandchild; Gideon Jahn.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sister Patricia Koch of Sandusky, Ohio and a special first cousin Burton Remsberg of Tiffin.

Jean was a 1950 graduate of Calvert High School and a 1954 graduate of Heidelberg College where she received a BA in Communications.  She was a member of both Calvert High School and Heidelberg’s marching bands and music was for Jean, a lifelong source of inspiration.  She played the trumpet and sang alongside her sister Pat in her father’s, Bernie Bauer’s All Girl Orchestra of the 1940’s. She remembered fondly, family gatherings with the Bauer clan in Green Springs which were always filled with music and laughter.  Jean worked as a legal secretary for her husband, Arthur, she also taught speech at Calvert High School and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

All Saints Day is a fitting day for Jean to die, the gift of life she gave is a hallmark of her character as she was first and foremost a giver.

The funeral Mass for Jean will be at 11 am, Saturday, November 5, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating.  The rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass.  Burial will be immediately following in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be private.
