Janet DelTurco

Janet Mary DelTurco, 93, of Tiffin, died at 4:04 a.m. Sunday, June 9, 2024, at The Courtyard at Tiffin, Ohio.  She was born November 10, 1930, in Hove, Sussex, England to Aubrey and Florence Victoria (Green) Clarkson.  She married Carmen DelTurco March 2, 1957, in Tiffin.  He died January 25, 1978.

Survivors include a son, Patrick J. (Cristy) DelTurco of Tiffin; a daughter, Victoria M. (Jeff) Noffsinger of Nashville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Brittany J. DelTurco, Nicholas A. Seery, Olivia M. DelTurco, Marina A. Sanders, and Patrick C. DelTurco; five great-grandchildren Noah Szablewski, Owen Szablewski, Sophia Szablewski, Bailey Seery, and Myla Seery; and a sister, Shirley Holmberg, of Surrey, England.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a great-granddaughter, Lillian Szablewski.

Janet was a graduate of Hove High School, Brighton Teacher Training College, Brighton, England, Heidelberg College and received her Master of Education at Bowling Green State University.  Janet taught at St. Joseph Catholic School from 1957-1995 and was the school’s principal from 1983-1995.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She was a member of Commission on Aging, Master Gardeners of Seneca County and wrote weekly gardening articles for the Advertiser-Tribune from 2002 until 2018.

There will be no visitation.   The funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Anthony Coci and Rev. Joseph Szybka. The rosary will be recited 30 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
