Jane Marie Harper, 89, of Tiffin, Ohio, died at 4:40 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Independence House, Fostoria, Ohio. She was born February 3, 1937, in Tiffin to Albert F. and Marian L. (Phillipps) Rumschlag. She married Harry J. Harper, May 4, 1957, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. He died March 3, 2016.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis Harper and Jeffrey Harper, both of Tiffin and Richard (Christie) Harper of Bellevue; a daughter, Suzanne (Ronald ) Cochran of Bellefontaine, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, Nicole (Neil) Podach, Stephanie (Bobby) Willis, Jacob Harper, Jessica Harper, Benjamin (Jane) Harper, Randall Harper, Anthony (Jessica) Harper, Elizabeth (Mark) Miller, Derek (Mara) Yoesting, Zachary (Chloe) Yoesting, Lucas Yoesting and Shea Harper; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, James (Marilyn) Rumschlag of Tiffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Joseph Harper, a brother, Gerald Rumschlag, two sisters, Joyce Palmer and Ruth Francis, and a daughter-in-law, Michelle Harper.
Jane was a 1955 graduate of Calvert High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was certified from the Bowling Green School of Licensed Practical Nursing and worked at Mercy Hospital for over 20 years. She was also a cake decorator.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4- 7 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2026, at TRAUNERO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-3113. The Lake Erie Nurse Honor Guard will hold services at 6:45 p.m.
The funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Anthony Coci. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Hospice and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
