Helen C. Boyer, age 91, of Tiffin, died at 1:15 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2010, at Avalon Nursing Home in Perrysburg.
Helen was born March 24, 1919 in Akron, Ohio, to the late Sylvester W. and Wilhemina (Klein) Schira. She married Eugene R. Boyer March 8, 1945 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. He died October 25, 1985.
She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth A. (Jim) Pardike of Toledo; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Jim) Odneal and Julie (Eric) Ersepke; five great-grandchildren, Kelly, Duncan and Megan Odneal and Gavin and Dylan Ersepke; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Phillip and Ruth Boyer of Tiffin; and a sister-in-law, Winnie Schira of Cuyahoga Falls.
Helen was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward Schira and a sister, Margaret Zimmerman.
Helen retired in 1982 from General Electric as a machine operator, she was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Tiffin, the Tiffin Eagles Aerie 402 Auxiliary, the Past Presidents Club and the GEWOTS Club of Tiffin. Helen enjoyed the beach, golf and her grandchildren.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 19, 2010 followed by the funeral service at 4 p.m., at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 South Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio, 44883, 419-447-3113. Deacon Jerry Schetter will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or Calvert Catholic Schools in care of the funeral home.
