Hans-Gerd Rasenack

April 1, 1955 — October 28, 2025

Tiffin

Hans-Gerd Rasenack,70, of Tiffin, Ohio, died Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Good Shephard home, where he was known for his humor and positive attitude.

He was born April 1, 1955, in Emden, Germany, to Martin and Ingeborg (Richter) Rasenack.

Hans-Gerd served two years in the German Navy. He was then Swiss-trained as a Sommelier for the Orient Express and then the Queen Elizabeth II cruise ship, where he circumnavigated the world three times and met his soon-to-be-wife.

Hans-Gerd relocated to Denver, Colorado, where he married Jessica Tribolet, November 30, 1991, and worked for Marriott for the next 15 years.

Hans-Gerd's wife, Jessica, was also his ocean sailing partner on his yacht, "the S/Y Lady von Hamburg," before he was tragically left with brain injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Denver, Colorado. Only because of skilled therapists at Craig Hospital and the daily attentions of his wife, were the couple able to enjoy an additional 22 happy years together.

Mr. Rasenack leaves behind his loving wife, as well as his brother, Martin Rasenack of Kiel, Germany; his brother, Bernd Rasenack of Oldenburg, Germany; his sister, Elske Rasenack and her husband, Ansgar Fisher of Königsbrunn, Germany; two nieces, a nephew, multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins in Germany, as well as dear friends and former colleagues in Colorado.

Funeral services will be held at a later date in Colorado.
