She was born February 5, 1925, in Bloomville, to Donald and Rilla Lehman. She married Charles R. Bowen, and he died in 1968.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Shari) Ward and Bonnie (Tim Wertz) McCarthy, both of Tiffin; one grandson, Patrick “Rick” (Samantha) McCarthy; two great-grandchildren, Sean and Brianna McCarthy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a son, Charles A. Bowen, and three brothers, Robert, Leonard “Mick”, and Dorsey Lehman; and a sister Wilma Rinker.
Mrs. Bowen worked at the Tiffin Glass House until it closed. She then worked at and retired from Tiffin University as a housekeeper. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and Moose.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 pm, Monday, July 30, 2012 at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419)447-3113. Funeral services will be11 am, Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the funeral home, with Rev. David Gowen officiating. Burial will follow in Fairwell-Retreat Cemetery, Republic.
Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice in care of the funeral home.
