Gerald A. Lucius, age 67, long time resident of St. Francis Home, Tiffin, Ohio, died at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at St. Vincent’s Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio.

He was born July 24, 1942 to the late Frank and Clara (Reinhart) Lucius in Fostoria, Ohio. He married Deborah Dayton on May of 1974 and they later divorced.

Jerry is survived by a daughter, Amy (Bob) Tucker of Tiffin; three brothers, Louis (Milly) Lucius, Francis (Susie) Lucius both of New Riegel and Paul (Charlotte) Lucius of Burgoon; four sisters, Dorothy Clouse of New Riegel, Eileen (Ron) Kurtz of Bloomville, Alma(Marion)Lucius of Tiffin and Marge(Bob) Sowers of Sycamore; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brother Bernard Lucius and a sister Lucille Smith.

Jerry attended Calvert High School. He served in the United States Army from 1964-1966 during the Vietnam War. He had retired as a punch press operator at General Electric in Tiffin. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 354 in New Riegel and he was an avid gardener and woodworker. He was an active resident of St. Francis Home and a collector of antiques and memorabilia.

Visitation with the family will be from 2-8 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2010 at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883. (419) 447-3113 and one hour prior to the Mass at St. Francis Home Chapel.

The Funeral Mass will be at a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010 at St. Francis Home with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will take place immediately following in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The New Riegel American Legion will perform military rites at the gravesite.

Contributions may be made to the Tiffin Seneca Public Library, St. Francis Home Activities Fund, or to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
