Georgiana Kathryn (McGowan) Burkart

Georgiana Kathryn Burkart, 95, of Tiffin, passed away Monday, March 30, 2020, surrounded by her family in Rives Junction, MI.

Georgiana was born March 26, 1925, in Tiffin to Bryan C. and Georgiana (Shively) McGowan.

Survivors include her four children, Barbara (Bob) Buehler of Rives Junction, MI, Kevin Burkart of Escondido, CA, Chris (Patti) Burkart of Rives Junction, MI, Michael Lee Burkart of Tiffin; four grandchildren, Nicholas, McKenzie, Tiffany, Zachary; one great-granddaughter, Lynaya; one great-grandson, Oliver; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John (Marjorie) McGowan; and a sister, Thora (John) Bland.

Georgiana was a 1943 graduate of Calvert High School. She worked for Mohawk Motors and Mercy Hospital Business Office, retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, enjoyed bowling with the Catholic Ladies at K of C and golfing with the Tuesday morning league at Clinton Heights.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 pm Friday, October 16, 2020, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio  44883, (419) 447-3113.

Memorial Mass will be 10 am Saturday, October 17, 2020, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with burial following in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, Calvert High School, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
