Evelyn Hildegard Schreiner, 83, of Tiffin, died 12:58 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.

She was born November 11, 1928 in Tiffin to the Edmund and Adeline (Ulman) Serr. She married Robert U. Schreiner September 5, 1949 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin.  He died January 27, 2008.

Survivors include, two sons, Mark (Eileen) Schreiner, of Toledo, Matthew (Angie) Schreiner of Seneca, S.C., three daughters, Mary (John) Rugh of Bucyrus, Monica (Fred) Roberson of Efland, N.C., Martha (Timothy) Lassiter of Durham, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Christina (Ric) Prine, Brian and Bethany Schreiner, Evan Schreiner, Kyle and Stacy Roberson, and Abby and Eric Lassiter; one great granddaughter, Kassi Prine; two sisters, Mary Kathryn (Kay) Borer of Upper Sandusky, and Elizabeth (Betty)Bodart, of Fostoria; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Kummerer of Tiffin.

Evelyn was a 1946 Calvert High School graduate.  She retired as a medical secretary for Dr. Monoscleros and Dr. Walter Daniel.  She also worked as a secretary at Calvert High School.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, its Rosary Altar Society and the church’s Women’s Choir.  She was a volunteer at Mercy Hospital.

Visitation with the family will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.  A wake service will be at 4:30  p.m. at the funeral home.

Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the funeral home followed by the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church officiated by Rev. Joseph Szybka and her nephew, Rev. Timothy Kummerer.  The rosary will be recited 20 minutes prior to the Mass at the church.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Building Fund, St. Francis Home or to Stein Hospice in care of the funeral home.
